Peter Maksimow is a member of Team INOV-8.

Peter's primary sport is mountain running, peppered with road running and snow shoeing and a resident of Manitou Springs

Current Occupation: Forever changing. "I am currently a valet at a really fancy-pants hotel which I cannot state the name of because of a contractual agreement, but the first part is the opposite of "narrow" and the last part is the opposite of "less". I also am a running coach, which is a great pleasure having people who really want to improve and advance themselves and work hard towards their goals. I am sure one day I will utilize my master's degree and get a "real job", but until then, bring on the luxurious cars!

Peter was a member of the 2005 record setting Central Mass Striders team that won the team race at Mt. Washington (record still stands).  He was also selected as the alternate for the 2005 US Mountain Running Team that traveled to New Zealand.

Peter is an award winning homebrewer and loves beer: making it, tasting it, talking about it. Most people know this about me because I talk about it all the time, but for those of you who don't know him, now you know.

Peter's best advice to atheletes would be "To have fun, life is short. Enjoy the people and scenery around you. Don't let a bad day get you down, there is always the next race. Before you know it, you'll be reminiscing about the the good old days...enjoy them while they are here!"

Chris Patton

Skateboarder - Beer Drinker

As an Army brat, Chris lived all around the world, meeting new people and picking up his life long distractions of BMXing and Skateboarding.
Beginning with homemade, backyard ramps pieced together from whatever materials were available, Chris developed not only his carpentry skills but his mini-ramp trickery.  As his ramp building progressed into bigger and better designs, so did Chris’ level of skating and the depth of his bag of tricks.
After years of the backyard masonite scene, a boom of concrete skateparks began in places like Oregon, Florida and Chris’  new home, Colorado.  As concrete parks began to pop up in cities across the country and around the state, Chris ventured out to skate new, quirky, often lumpy concrete bowls.  The bigger, faster concrete transitions pushed Chris’ skating to a whole new level.  As Chris’ bowl skating progressed, so did the quality of the parks being built.  Before long, huge, butter smooth vertical bowls became the training ground on which Chris would hone his recognizable skating style of fast, technical lip tricks, boosted airs and aggressive grinds.

Chris’ introduction to beer was as natural as his taking to skateboarding.  As a youngster in Ulm, Germany, Chris had his first beer post shred session.  Honing his skills in Germany included the infamous skatepark/roller rink/trampoline course/mechanical bull challenge environment known as Tropica.  It was here that Chris learned to skate vert to the cheers of bar-fueled spectators.  Other than this early intro to beer, Chris was devoid of the bar scene till he was 21.  It was this magic birthday when a underage friend looked on while Chris was served his first legal beer in the states noting, “you are the luckiest guy I know”.   Enter the craft beer boom of the early 90’s.  Chris followed his love for beer into the local breweries where he would trade work, caustic cleaning bung kegs, in exchange for lifeblood for his first kegerator.  Much like his desire for perfect ramps and skateable surfaces, Chris also desired a perfectly crafted beer.  Chris says, “Thanks to Black Fox for helping me blend my passions.”  Cheers!
